Drone training project lands: The results are in

The Doctoral Network project AERO-TRAIN is officially ending, and we are doing a deep dive into the results and the societal impact of the project – both for academia and the industry.

Facts

As of this writing, the ESRs have produced over 15 journal articles and more than 35 conference papers, with an additional 8 works submitted and awaiting acceptance. Notably, one ESR received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), one of the field’s most prestigious conferences.

Beyond their academic contributions, they have also participated in over 15 dissemination activities aimed at raising project awareness among audiences without a scientific background, reaching more than 1,000 individuals.

This level of scientific output is notable, given the competitive acceptance rates typical of many robotics conferences and journals, as well as the extended publication timelines that can exceed a year in some cases.
